That i have NEVER been asked to spell my last name over and over again... grrr! Haha I never got that with Newman before.... What's so hard about spelling "Searle"??? I ask you. Truly.
I guess in a way it doesnt sound how you pronounce it.. but to me it does...

I've had a problem with people spelling both my maiden name and married name right my whole life. So I don't even bother waiting for them to ask for the spelling, I just spell it as soon as I tell them my name. Haha :-)
You poor thing!
I have had no troubles with my married name. However, people would often pronounce my maiden name incorrectly. It happened so much that I stopped correcting the offenders! :)
Ah, the joys of surnames...
