Another Year Older....

Mmmmm chocolate! :) And all the better for you..... 60% less fat! Yeeeehaaaaa! :)

Anyhow...... :)
On November 17th, i celebrated my 24th Birthday..... and then Dan's 28th birthday was on the 18th of November.:) Kinda neat how we are the day after each other eh? :) I am kind of use to that though. When i was growing up, my Birthday is the 17th of November and my Mum's is the 18th of November. My brother, Steven's is the 11th of August, and then my Dad's is the 12th of August! Weird... i know. :-) I guess at least you wont forget anyone's birthday in your family right? :)

Anyhow, I had a pretty quiet day, and enjoyed just relaxing. Dan had to work unfortunately so we couldnt really do much. We spend the evening together, and just relaxed. Some friend s from Church had organised a Dinner for Dan and i at one of our favourite places to eat, Zeffereli's. Although the service was terrible on that particular night ( i guess because we had a big crowd, usually there is only 2 of us.. :)
I am finding it hard to believe that i am 24 already! I guess it is true when they say "Time flies when your having fun!" :) Dan got me a few presents, most of the things that i had mentioned to him earlier that i liked, and had wanted for a little while. :-)
My dear friend, Jessica bought me this cute green pot holder. :) I hung it in the kitchen on the wall. She also got me a creamy coloured tassle thing. Its in the bathroom on the cabinet though. Haha ;)
Some friends from Church bought us this cute little dish below, i had some coffee, tea, and sugar canisters that matched this, but i broke the stinkin lids on them.
So they are no longer usuable. :( I was very upset about that! I loved them....

Dan came home with these beautiful white roses for me after work. I just love them! Roses are my favourite kinda flower, indeedly doodly yes they are! Aren't they purrtttyyy? :-)
I also got a Dymo Labeller from Dan. They are the neatest things! Where you can print out labels for everything, and since i am on a decluttering journey (still, i know! hahaha!) it will come in handy for labelling everything... well just about everything! :)

I also got some magazines that had some cute crafty/christmasy type things, as wel l as the book "What to expect when your expecting.." And no, before you ask, I am NOT pregnant. Haha :) I just like to read about these things plenty of time ahea d you see. :) Always good to be prepared for the unknown right?
So far the book is really interesting, and i am really enjoying reading it. Pregnancy really is amazing! :) It's amazing the amount of change that your body goes through, and is really just fascinating. :)

Dan also got me this lovely 2009 Calendar that i love! :) I love lang calendars, they are so beautiful. :)

Ashlee, our 11 year old niece made us these adorable cards. Dan being an IT nerd, his suited him perfectly! Doesnt it look neat? Hehe And mine was a flower of course... me being the florally type person that i is! :)

For Dan's birthday, we didnt do much. I made him his favourite for dinner, "Chicken Satay.."Dan just loovvvess chicken! I personally wouldnt make Chicken satay my favourite food when there are so many other goodins to choose from! :) But each to their own. At least the dinner turned out well! I was so annoyed though.. more to come on that though...below...

Now the annoying thing...was that i baked a cake for Dan's birthday... the stinkin thing took about 2.5 hours to bake too! Was just a vanilla butter cake, and at the end of all that, it came out like this.... i was so mad! (Although, Dan and i had a good laugh about it too, we were in stitches!) Haha
(Obviously i have mutilated it a little from what it looked like when it came out of the oven... but you get the picture! Right? Haha) I had one of those spring pans, you know that kind you usually make cheesecakes in? Well that, so i unclipped it, and the whole stinkin cake split in half! Hahahaha)

My poor little creation... all terrified, and lying in pieces on the plate... sadness! :(

Ahhhh well! So after all that, Dan still got his birthday cake... like this. :) He was still happy, (but i wasnt!) oh well. Never mind.... next time. I have an excuse! It was my first time baking this kind of cake, and i also learnt to grease the pan more next time! Or use paper instead. Haha So that was my annoying, and VERY amusing birthday experience. :) So with the left over cake pieces i am making a pudding type thing, with custard.. at least it was good for something in the end! Better luck next time right?

So relatively speaking... we had great birthdays. :) Thank the Lord we made it this far eh?!?

Happy (belated) birthday, dear! It sounds like your day was so special, and you scored some great pressies! :)

Ah, the birthday cake looks like a LOT of fun - the disaster that it was! I would have had the giggles too, AFTER I got over the frustration of it. :D :D
