For this child i prayed...

A few months ago now, i purchased 2 very good books. :-) They are good, not only because of the content in each, but also the illustrations are just so beautiful! I love books with beautiful paintings and drawings in them. Dont you? They add such a beautiful overall presence to the book. Saying that though, i also enjoy reading books that dont have any pictures, much more left up to your imagination! :-)

The first book i purchased is called, " For this child i prayed..." it is written by Stormie Omartian and the gorgeous illustrations are by Susan Rios. She does beautiful work!

The contains prayers that you would pray for your child/children. They are beautiful and so practical. Its about the Lord making you the parent you want to be, and teaching you to truly intercede in prayer for your children the way we should. From Infancy to Childhood, there is nothing that can influence a child's life quite like the heart of a loving parent and the power of prayers.

I remember when i first found out i was pregnant with Caleb. I remember feeling so happy, and joyous at the prospect of having a baby! But underneath my joy, i remember feeling so overwhelmed by the most difficult job i will ever encounter in this life...... parenthood. Having only been a parent for 3 months now, i can say though it is the most rewarding thing i have ever done. :-)

I have found the prayers encouraging over the past few weeks, as i embark on this journey. I hope you will too! I will post them every now and then from the book so you can enjoy them, too. May the Lord help us as parents to raise Godly children that bring glory to him!

LORD, I submit myself to you. I realize that parenting a child in the way you would have me to is beyond my human abilities. I know i need you to help me. I want to partner with you and partake of your gifts of wisdom, discernment, revelation, and guidance. I also need your strength and patience, along with a generous portion of your love flowing through me. Teach me how to love the way you love. Teach me your ways, enable me to obey your commandments and do only what is pleasing in your sight.
Make me the parent you want me to be, and teach me how to pray and truly intercede for the life of this child. Lord, you said in your word, "Whatsoever things ye ask in my name, believing, you will recieve...." In Jesus name i ask that you will increase my faith to believe for all the things you have put on my heart to pray for concerning this child you have given me.

In Jesus name,
Amen.
