Teething Baby

A Teething Baby. Yep, Caleb has started to teethe! You know the dribbling, and very aggressive when it comes to chewing his fists and hands, and fingers. Yesterday we had quite a terrible day, not fun at all! He was fussy pretty much from the late morning till late afternoon. So fussy, that he didnt even take a nap in the morning at his usual time, nor in the afternoon at the usual time either! It was so sad, to see him all upset, and being unable to help him for a little while there. :-( Its terrible knowing what is wrong, and not being able to do anything for them! I guess teething is one of those bittersweet moments, :) your excited because your lil bubba is growing up and about to hit another milestone: gaining teeth, but then at the same time it is just HORRIBLE to see them in so much pain and agony!

So here i am, asking all of you mamas out there a question.

What you found to be VERY helpful in those teething, and fussy days?

So far i have been using Bonjela, and a natural teething medicine that my Mother in Law gave me yesterday. Caleb seems to like both, and i am sure they are helping. With the natural medicine, you give 0.5ml every half hour for up to 4 doses. I find it usually starts to kick in around the 2/3 dose mark. I have also been giving him a teething toy to chew on. You should have seen his face when i first gave him the Bonjela! Boy... too bad i didnt have the camera! Definately a Kodak moment that one! Hehe

Anyhoo, would LOVE to hear from any of you who have some pointers on helping teething little ones!
Any tips would be much appreciated!! :-)

Enjoy your day! :-)

I haven't tried it as I read it after all of mine had finished teething, but I have heard that vanilla extract helps a lot.

I used to use frozen bananas in one of those net things that look sort of like a dummy.

If they were real cranky I would go ahead with baby panadol. I am not found of using it all the time but one of my boys was in misserrable pain with his teeth.

Hope he feels better soon,
Amanda

We used the tried & tested - bonjella, chew toys & panadol but Charley also loved a cold, wet facewasher to chew on.
