Spending Time Together....

Monday was a Public Holiday for us... Canberra Day. We wanted to just relax, as the next couple of weeks will prove themself to be very busy with the wedding being so close and all. :-) But we are fairly organised, we even have a 2 page list which are crossing things off as we go.. So thats been a big help! YAY! Thanks Ange, for helping me do that by the way... Its always handy to have someone else help, especially when your brain is all over the place! Hehe :-)

Dan and i originally were going to go for a drive to Kangaroo Valley, but in the end we got as far as Goulburn and decided to stay there and just look around at some shops, which by the way they had some pretty cute ones there. :-) Vintage type stuff, etc...My favourite. Hehe So we walked around for a little, and i bought this black wrought iron chandelier type thing, and a hook thing to put somewhere in the house. :-) And Dan also bought some bookends for himself, and i know what your thinking... whats so exciting about bookends? haha, Well these are pretty cute! They are ships... So at least they are nice to look at! Haha They are for his study he says. I will post some pics later on. :-)

So after our little shopping trip, we decided to go up to the lookout in Goulburn. We took a picnic lunch, and went up and sat together and ate lunch. :-) It was nice to just relax, and not think about all the busyness of life for a little while. I enjoy spending time with Dan so much, especially quiet times like those. It is nice to get away from it all every now and then!

Here we have Dan admiring the view... As you can see, it was a beautiful Day. :-) Bit hot, but lovely.........

After lunch we went and looked at the Tower. Its some kind of tower that was built as a memorial for the Soldiers that fought in World War 1. It was an interesting looking tower, built out of stones. I remember i was quite fascinated by how it was built, with all little stones pieced together. :-) I love to look at buildings.. especially old type ones. Goulburn has some really pretty, old fashioned type buildings too! Its amazing what looking at a building, can make you think. To be thankful for the lives that fought, even though you didnt know them... it builds within you some gratitude for the men that died. Thank the Lord above for such men, that were, and still are today... willing to fight for their countries freedom.

So it was nice. :-) Anyway, scary stuff happened too! I had my hand on a rail, and was just resting there for a little while when Dan suddenly says to me, "Ummmm i wouldnt put your hand there if i was you...." I said, "Why?" He said, "Just trust me, you dont want to put your hand there"... (now in my head i'm thinking.. Ok, its gotta be a spider, or something nasty for him to say that!) "Ok...." so i took my hand off fast as i could! Haha... "There is a spider there isnt there?" I said. "Ummm have a look...." "NO!!" .... I wouldnt even look... so i told him to take a photo of it and show me in the car.... Apparantley my hand was about 2cms away from this ugly looking thing! Arrrrrggggggg! Im only 23, but let me tell you... i came close to haveing a heart attack that day. Hahaha :-) See below... the picture doesnt do it justice apparantley, and it was quite a big spider.. with nasty orange, and white stripes.. cant be good! You cant see it very well, but trust me... It was nasty looking!! I had tingles up and down my spine. Haha

So after that shock... we went back to the car.. and went to an old antique type bookshop. I bought a cute little book called, "The gift of Friendship"... so i will post some quotes out of it some other time. :-) Its cute. But the bad thing is i actually had an allergic reaction to the shop, because of all the dust and stuff in there... So the last couple of days i have been a little unwell. But seem to be on the mend now, so thats good. :-)

So thats our Long weekend, in a nutshell. Better go for now.... I'll leave you with some pics of the view. :-)

Prettyful..!!!

~Love,
Melissa~

Hello back!! It's always fun to find new people reading the blog. I'm getting back into it, now that Hazel is almost a month old - hopefully things will pick back up again! :)
