First bed & breakfast experience... :-)

The end of June marked our 3 month anniversary! Not that long i know, but it seems longer to me for some reason! So we decided to go away for just one night. After work on Friday we drove down to a little town called Bredbo. It is so sweet, a nice, small country town. I could definately live there i think! :-) It took us about 55 mins to get there from Canberra. The drive down was lovely, nice and relaxing! I dont know about you, but i love being in a car, and just driving... especially in the country side. It's kind of a rest for the soul if you know what i mean... Probably not the right words that i am looking for, Haha but you get what i mean anyhow. :-)

We have never been to a bed and breakfast before, so we thought we would give it a try! And there is also another reason why we chose here! A couple of years ago, there was this gorgeous antique type homewares store in the Mall here where i work, called "Unique Boutique" they moved to bredbo, so i had wanted to see it again for sometime! So this seemed like a good excuse to go. Haha No just kidding..

So we arrived at about 7:00pm, and were greeted by our hosts, Trish & Graeme. They were very nice, kind people which you'll find most country folk are. We sat and chatted for about an hour or so, and they went off to do their own thing while we sat in front of the fire place and talked and relaxed. :-) It was lovely! I love fireplaces... who doesnt? :-) The bed and breakfast was a HUGE house, that had basically 2 sections. Trish & Graeme lived in one room on the other side of the kitchen, and then the other end of the house had about 5 bedrooms in it which was the B&B end. It was a lovely house! Its actually for sale at the moment, and they are moving just up the other end of the street i think they said to a bigger place. :-)

This is the room we stayed in, which was called... " The Country Garden Room"... :-) Im not really one for pink, but it looked nice. Hehe

The Bathroom.. It had a spa, but we didnt get time to have one.

You know what?! Then you wouldnt believe, i actually got sick on that Friday night! Talk about perfect timing! I started to feel very flu type symptons coming on, and so i ended up going to bed early and leaving Dan all to himself. It was very strange! One minute i was fine, and then the next minute i had a massive headache, and was breaking out in cold sweats and everything! Thank the Lord it only lasted for that night, and by Saturday morning when i woke up i was fine and dandy again. :-) So i was VERY glad about that!

So we got up on Saturday morning, and breakfast was all nicely set out for us, with cute china! It was nice. We didnt want a big breakfast, because we planned on going to the Pancake place trying it out... since we have heard so much about it! But by the end of breakfast, that trish made, we were so full we decided not too!

After breakfast we said our goodbye's and went for a walk on half way to the river. It was beautiful in the morning there! It just felt alot different to the city.. was beautiful! :-)


I made a little friend on the way.. my horsey friend. Hehe :-) he was beautiful too!

After our walk we ventured onto shopping! Unique boutique was still lovely inside, and i had fun looking around. I bought a couple things from there also. Just some nice smelling candle scents for my oil burner. They had one that was the Lily of the Valley, which smells beautiful, so i definately had to try that! :-)
I also got a purple beaded candle ring, and a ball thingy to hang over a doorknob.
Oh and the Christmas barn was great! I have never seen so many Christmas decorations in my entire life! I walked in and was dumbfounded! Haha I literally stood there for about 5 mins, looking around and saying, "Whoa!!!" Dan just laughed at me. Hehe :-) It was lovely inside though! Rows and rows of Christmas decorations, and in all different colour themes! Pink, purple, silver, white, your traditional red and green. It was just beautiful! I definately plan on going there sometime before Christmas again. Hehe :-) So have to start saving now!

We drove into Cooma also, which was about a 20 minute drive from Bredbo and had pizza for Lunch. :-) Looked around some more stores, and then drove home. I even got to drive a little of the way... :-) For those of you who dont know, i have my learners permit still... (yes i know, pretty lame! Haha) so being 23 and learning to drive can be quite humurous. Dan says i did a good job, but when you have cruise control, and are on a highway its hard to do a bad job! :-)

So that was basically the end of our trip! It's nice to get away when you can.
We had a blast.... and a lovely 3 month anniversary.. :-)
