A work in progress!

Over the next couple of weeks to come, our Church is going to be very busy! We have started a new project, of painting and refurbishing the auditorium at Church. :-) We are all very excited, and have been wanting to do it for a while now, so its finally happening and we are all very glad to be getting rid of some of the things that have been there since we bought the building! :-)

The worst thing about it i would say is, The bright orange carpet! I will definately be glad to see that go. Hehe :-) Despite its physical problems, it's still a Church. After all, what really makes a church is not the building, it is the people and the lives that are a part of it.

Pastor preached a great message on Sunday about the Church. I think that we really do sometimes take the precious gift of the Church, for granted. I have always been thankful, and grateful for my home Church. For without it, and the lives in it, my life wouldnt be the same. I know that for certain!
It's such a blessing to see smiling faces, every Sunday morning no matter how bad your week has been. To hear God's word, and fellowship with brethren. I know in my life, there has been times when i needed something, and there was nothing else that could help me or comfort me than the Church. God's word is so very precious.

A little bit of history about our Church. Our Church first started in 1991 i think it was, by an American missionary. I remember those days, well. We rented various locations, such as Public School halls, and a neighbourhood Centre for many years. :-) During the week it was a Kids playgroup type centre, and on Sundays it was a Church. :-) What fond memories i have of growing up there. I first started attending on the Sunday School Bus when i was around 8 years old.
In 2000, or 2001 (forgive me for not knowing the right dates!.. i am hopeless with dates! Haha) We purchased our very own building, the one that we are currently in now. :-) The Lord has taken good care of us, and we are all very thankful!

Praise the Lord for a great Church! Even though we are not great in numbers, we are great in spirit i believe, and the Lord has definately blessed us abundantly over the years. Words cannot even describe, just how thankful i am for the place that i call home... well one of my homes at least... :-) I am thankful for so many things about it. I recall a truth that i heard recently at a Church conference that i attended not too long ago. "Church is where they will take care of you, but it's also where they will hurt you." I will never forget that truth. Churches are not perfect. God knows that. They never were, and they never will be. But the world will sure miss her, when she's gone. That my friends, is so very true. Church is a part of you, if you belong to one. It is a family.
I will leave you with some pics. I will keep you posted on the progress!
If you have a great Church, that you are a part of i would love to hear all about it! :-)

Sunday night at the beginning. Just emptied the auditorium, and enjoying some pizza and fellowship. :-)
