All about our little Abby :)

Ohhhh guess what? Our little Abby is so precious. Hehe She can now do a bunch of things, that really suprised me at the amount of time that she took to learn them in, as it was not very long at all!
As far as the barking goes, there hasn't really been alot of that lately... :) Which is great! Like i said before, she mostly only barks, when she is excited, or playing... generally speaking she doesnt bark at people. The new challenge now for me, lol is to train her NOT to jump on people when they come in the house.. Any tips anyone? Would love to hear them! I am guessing it will involve something to do with putting her on her lead, and telling her to sit when someone comes in the house!

Anyhoo, :) YAY!

Abby can now officially:
SIT
BEG
FETCH, DROP then SIT (mind you, she gets a little distracted sometimes! haha)
SHAKE HANDS!

As for the more important things such as potty training, she is still learning... She is getting better though i must say. She has gotten alot better at holding her bladder though, and when we do catch her "going potty" in the house (which is usually number 2's, not 1's. Haha) she gets this look on her face.. So she knows that she is NOT allowed too. So at least she knows that! :) I can deal with that, and work with that.
The next thing we are going to do, is get a doggy door and train her to use that, That way she can let herself out when she needs to go. Der. I dont know why we dont already have one! But she is still young, so she will learn quickly, and i am sure she will love the doggy door. It's really neat too! You dont have to do anything to install it, it just clips into the sliding door frame, and away we go. :) So i'm happy about that! No having to cut the door, to install the thing. So we'll see how that goes. I am positive she will catch on ver quickly, as she did with the above tricks. :) I have actually left the screen door open for about 4 days last week, so that she could go and come as she pleased! I found that worked a treat, except for the flies etc coming in.. No thanks. :) Haha So i am convinced the doggy door will be perfect!

So i am pretty excited about that! Now to see how much they cost..... a couple hundred i am guessing! Have to save for one!
Here is a video of Abby doing her tricks.. ;) Enjoy! Isnt she too cute? Of course she isnt perfect at them, but she can at least do them! :) She was mesmorised by the little DVD thing on the TV moving around. Haha it was sooo funny! :)

She is so cute, and couldnt hurt a fly. She is hilarious in her mannerisms and with other dogs, and even cats! She has scared so many little kids by jumping up on them, haha And even though it's cute to watch as an adult, i think the little kiddies are a little scared. :) Hehe The twins came over one day and Abby jumped up on Zach, and he balled his eyes out, and it was hard to make him quiet after that! :( Poor little thing. I can imagine just how scary it must have been for him with this little blonde ball of fluff jumping all over him! Can't you? Haha.... Anyhoo, see how we go with that one!

Overall she is a good dog, she has her moments when she wont come when called, but she soon snaps out of it when she gets a firm smack on the bottom and a big "NO!" haha :) I am definately glad that she KNOWS the meaning of the word NO... without it, we would get nowhere! For example, today i was baking some brownies, and i spilt a bunch of the chocolate on the floor! ARRRGGG... Number one dogs reaction, is to eat it right? So i saw her pounding, lol forward to come and eat it, and i yelled out NO, and she whimpered away. Haha YAY! :) So in those circumstances when your hands are full it is great! :) I

SADNESS! She is getting soooooo big too! :( Where does time go????? I am hoping she wont get too much bigger though! I have been told she wont, so that is good! Yay... :)
Anyhoo, gotta go! :) I cannot believe it is already almost the end of the year, with a new one ahead! Arrgggg.....Can you?

Less than a week till Christmas!!! ;) Are you excited? Hehe

Love
Melissa
