A few of you have been NAG NAG NAGGING me!!! To post some pics of our home... ok, ok... well not nagging but you know... asking. :0) There is a difference between those right? :) Anyhoo, we live in a 2 bedroom townhouse in a small little town. :) I grew up here actually, Dan close by. Depsite how much our town gets bagged out and made fun of, i really do love it here. I guess that is because i have grown up here. Sure there are bums, and it has its bad points, Haha! And things along those lines, but it is home and we love it here. :) To me though, there is bad everywhere you go right, that's the way i see it! We love living literally 2 mins up the road from Church too! We love being close to town and things of that nature, close to family and friends too! Dan bought this place when he was 21 years old, and he has lived here for about 6 years before i came along. I have "girlified" it, if that's a word LOL, and made it look at least a little better than what it was before when he and his friend were living in it. Was a typical bachelor pad, i'm sure you have all seen one of those before! Haha! I do have some before pics, so i must show you the before and afters! :) Fun fun. I do love decorating, and creating things!
It is so much fun. I think i would have liked to become an Interior decorator, as i really do love it! I would still love to study that for something to do. There is actually a course that you can do by correspondence that i was looking into not too long ago. So will let you know if i decide to, or not too do that....(probably wont! Haha) :) Despite my website, "Heart and Home" being a Shabby Chic style site, your probably thinking that my home is that way too! Haha :) That is not the case. While i do love the beauty, and simplicity that the Shabby Chic style offers, i do prefer the more romantic country type look and have tried to do that look in our home. We have made alot of changes since i moved in, and we really love our little home now. :) People that have seen it before, and now are amazed
when they walk in and see how it changed from a Bachelor's pad into, a nice little cosy home now. :) So without any further ado.... below are some pics.
Some of the pics turned out blurry, my camera is just off my mobile phone, so they arent that great. Haha Oh well, you get the picture... no pun intended. Haha :)
Today i am only posting pictures of the downstairs part, another day will be the upstairs! Enjoy! :)

The Entryway, we replaced the door not too long ago. I love the little window on it, very cute. :) Although you cant really see the detail in it in this pic though! Sorry about that. Haha :) I keep shoes in the basket just near the door, i thought that was a handy storage solution that looked better than just having them lying around on the floor!

Here's a pic of our new door... you can see it better in this one!

The Living room/sitting area below...... I picked a dark purple, grape colour for the feature wall in the living room. I was kind of scared howit would turn out, being a small space and all, but we love it! It adds such a relaxing feeling, and an ambience about it. Lovely! :)

Hugs,
Melissa

Oh Mel - it's lovely! You have done such a great job decorating the place. It is so homey and feminine... how did Dan feel when you transformed the batch pad into a home? :)
