Determined & The Interview....

On Thursday morning i had an interview at a Respite Cottage for patients with dementia. I found the job add on the internet while searching one day, and it seemed to meet all of my requirements as far as hours, and being part time and all i thought it would be perfect! :) So i applied, and later got called in for an interview. The interview was very informal, and very relaxed which was great! I walked into the Cottage, and felt right at home! Its seriously like this cute little cottage/house type thing! And its nice! The lady gave me an interview, and walked me around outside in the garden and gave me a tour of everything! They are very well set up and have a chook shed, a vegetable garden, and a greenhouse even! It is very sweet. :) I think the work that they do is very important in helping and supporting carers who actually do take care of there family members with the illness of dementia. I know the kind of hard work that goes into looking after someone with a illness, as my mum did exactly the same thing with my Grandma (whom has now passed away). She suffered from a Brain Tumour, but the Good Lord chose to keep her with us for a few years after that and we brought her into our home and looked after her. :) Those were the good ole days... ahhh how i miss my dear old grandma. :) Although, she is in Heaven, rejoicing with Jesus i am certain, and wouldnt come back down here for anything! I dont blame her though right? hehe! :-)

I felt so at home at the Interview, and at the Cottage that as i walked away after my appointment i felt inspired, and had a tear in my eye and a knot in my throat In all of my excitement, i didnt even ask how much it pays, and still dont know! But i felt that that really wasnt the issue right now. If i can be a help and encouragement to someone else, then that means the most to me. :) I truly felt that i would LOVE the job. Even though the job is the admin side of it, which can be fairly boring, you can also interact with the patients! And at least you know that your work is actually counting for something, and people appreciate it! I am so excited! I havent been this excited about a job... ever. haha :-) But i cant get my hopes too high. As there are still some more people to be interviewed. They said that i will know by next thursday hopefully. :) So i will let you know i go. And oh! They have the most beautiful Dog in there too! Her name is Bessie, and shes fairly old, but she is a golden retriever!! :) So lovely! They are one of my favourite dogs, and she just loved me too, wouldnt leave my side! She even followed me into the interview room.. until she got told to get out! :( Haha The poor dear.... so thats that! ;) Yay! We shall see, i trust that whatever happens, if i get it, or if i dont that it is the Lords will. I have prayed and asked him, and he knows my heart and how much i would love this job... so its all in his hands. :) thats a pretty safe place to be!

On another note.... My good friend Jesse has started giving me driving lessons! Seeming i cannot afford them, being $50 an hour! OUCH... so thats been fun, too! We had our first lesson the other day, and she was impressed with how relaxed and capable i was. :) Sure i still NEED lots of pratice especially at reverse parking, and hill starts and all that jazz... but mostly i am doing well. So i am excited about that too! I tell you, i am DETERMINED to get my licence in the next couple of months if its the last thing i do! Ive had it! Haha...Yes yes i know, i am 24 and still have my Ls.. yes... i agree, tis amusing! But hey, better late than never right!? :) I need to get my Ps before June, as that is when my Ls expire.. and i aint going through all that again! Haha :) No way... siree.. bob!

We did alot of driving around, and i got to practice a number of things. She is a great teacher, and i really love her company too. :) So i always look forward to spending time with her. Its always nice to know that you can rely on your fellow christian brethren to help you out when your in need of a hand eh? :) One good turn always deserves another, so jesse is giving me driving lessons and i am giving her guitar lessons. :) She is a fast learner, and is doing rather well! We are almost at the stage where she will be learning chords soon, so that will be great! Maybe she can play in church sometime soon! :) Hehe

Anyhoo, thats my exciting news! Im feeling rather tired... and worn out. :) Had a long day... So im sorry if this seemed rushed!

I will let you all know how i go, and i would appreciate your prayers for the Lords will for the job. :)
I better head to bed, got a big day ahead of cleaning tomorrow... well cleaning cupboards out! Haha :)

Hope your all well, and having a great week! :)
xoxo

Love,
Melissa

I'm praying for this job for you, dear! Isn't it wonderful when you have such excitement for a particular position?

I didn't know you were still a learner! How precious. :) The lessons are indeed expensive... but I hope you progress really well with Jesse. Before you know it, you'll be zooming around on your own! :)

Lotsa love to you, Mel!
