One of my favourite poems....

I just love poetry.... Do you? :)

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments,  Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O, no! It is an ever fixed mark,
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worths unknown, although his height be taken.
Loves not Times fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickles compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error, and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Dont you just love that poem? I do. It just makes me smile, as i think about exactly what it means. :) I really love some of Shakespeares poetry. It is so inspiring! Is anyone else a fan? hehe If so, what is your favourite? I also like the one that says, "Shall i compare thee to a summers day.... " :) Call me old fashioned, but there is something so deep, and divine about his poetry. I just love it! I like to study them, and see exactly what they mean, word for word...

The subject of the poem is of course the one and only love, and the main theme is that true love endures. :-) He is telling us that true love can withstand time itself... it can endure anything that comes its way. Trials and tribulations are nothing it cannot handle. It is by far one of shakespeares most romantic pieces, as well as one of his most profound works, which is often quoted
at weddings. It says that true love is unchanging, despite changing circumstances. It is longsuffering, and forgiving, and and it is true, unconditional, genuine love.

Ahhhh.... so beautiful. I guess you could say... i am in love!! Haha ....;-)
Off to bed now, i have an interviewy thing at a Recruitment agency in the morning... wish me luck!
Nitey nite.... perhaps i will have sweet dreams tonight... about LOVE!! hahah... sorry, im in an odd mood... for some reason. :) Hehe hoo!

I like that poem, too, although I don't like a lot of poetry. Did you get it from that book I lent you? hehe
Love poems are the best. :-)

I **love** that poem!! One of my favorite movies is Sense and Sensibility, and I used to frequently quote that poem with my friends while we'd be dressed in our regency-era gowns and fancy hair. ;) I love how you expound on it--I hadn't really thought about what it, you know, MEANT! :)

Hope your interview went well, girlie! Maybe it's because you found a job that you haven't posted in a few days? :D
